Overall, the levels are trace amount and the results vary across the flavours. For the safety of all our customers, we have decided to recall our whole range of dark chocolates and ensure all packaging reflects the presence of allergens. We emphasise that no milk product or ingredient with milk is used in any of our dark chocolate bars. However, we also make milk and white chocolate and use macadamia and pistachio nuts; sesame seeds and wakame (a type of seaweed) in some of our chocolates.
What does this mean?
Jasper + Myrtle chocolates are available for sale and are safe to consume.
However, any consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed. These consumers should not eat the chocolates and if already purchased, please return it to your retailer or contact us for a refund.
As of 13 February 2018, with the exception of David Jones stores, all our dark chocolates have updated packaging, which includes the declared allergen statement.
Again, we sincerely apologise to our customers and retailers who have been impacted by this. We will continue to make our chocolates from bean to bar and look forward to the future and making even better chocolates.
